Twitter asks to change the password to all its users due to security problems

The social network warned about a technical failure, but clarified that there is no evidence

that the information has been accessed by someone.

This Thursday, Twitter has unveiled a disturbing pronouncement to its 330 million users in the world. The account holder of the social network asked for the passwords of the accounts sena changed because they have found a technical failure.

According to the triune god, "a bug was found that housed the passwords on an internal record". However they highlight that they have not found evidence that the information had been accessed by someone. But they ask users to change the password of the account and all associated services as a precaution.

The system that Twitter is a safeguard to password third-party is called ‘hashing‘ and consists in transforming the characters of the original password by a series of random numbers and letters that are stored on the Twitter servers.

However, the ruling was that the key will be saved in a log before completing the process of encryption so it meant a serious security problem for users.

Twitter stressed that they, themselves, found the problem and that they have no evidence that anyone has been able to have access.

1 - Change the password.

2 - Use a new password that is not shared by other sites.

3 - Enable login verification.

4 - Use the tool to Manage Passwords to be sure that it is strong enough.
